Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been "trying to gain political influence in the United States" since moving away from the UK, according to reports.
And while attempting to do this, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is said to have handed the First Lady Jill Biden a very "intriguing gift". The couple, who stepped back as working members of the Royal Family in 2020, reportedly wanted to gain political influence in the United States of America after leaving the UK. Reports say that the couple "tried a variety of methods" to connect with the Bidens and build up their status and stance in the country.
MailOnline claims some of these methods included the couple wanting Jill Biden to attend the Invictus Games, asking to board Air Force One to fly back to the United States from the Queen's funeral in London last September, and also sending a gift to the First Lady.
The paper says sources claim that the First Lady "received an intriguing gift to thank her for what was seen as a supportive gesture towards Meghan following her controversial TV interview".
Harry and Meghan famously sat down for a tell-all interview with American talk show host Oprah Winfrey on March 7, 2021. The interview saw the couple talk about their departure from the Royal Family and the reasoning behind it.
After the interview, the world was divided, but many believe that the Bidens were sympathetic and subtly showed their solidarity to Meghan and Harry in a very sweet way. The following day after the Duke and Duchess' bombshell chat with Oprah, the First Lady was seen wearing an Oscar de la Renta dress that was very similar to a dress from the same brand that Meghan had worn a month earlier.

Social media were quick to say that the First Lady's lemon-hued attire was a subtle show of solidarity, with it reported that Meghan sent Jill a basket of lemons as a 'thank you' gift.
