Which celebrities have committed serious wrongdoings that often go unmentioned?

 Over the years, and after numerous serious wrongdoings many a times unmentioned or reduced by media due to their usual celebrity status or industry favoring to shelter stars. The following are just a few cases in point.



Filmmaker and actor Woody Allen has faced accusations of sexual abuse by his adoptive daughter, Dylan Farrow. Although the accusations made headlines, Allen found the continued admiration of his work and huge financial backing from Hollywood. And despite the allegations, the response to his case by several in the public and industry has been all over — with some opting to divorce his art from his alleged crimes and not holding him accountable in a broad way.


Roman Polanski is another filmmaker whose criminal history is frequently overshadowed by his artistic legacy. In 1977, Polanski fled the U.S. after pleading guilty to the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl, **Samantha Geimer**. Despite his fugitive status, Polanski has continued to work in the film industry, winning prestigious awards and receiving support from certain segments of Hollywood, raising questions about the industry's selective accountability for misconduct.
