IVANKA TRUMP, 38, is the daughter of US President Donald Trump, 74, and step-daughter of Melania Trump, 50. What does Ivanka's body language with the First Lady show?
Ivanka Trump has worked as a senior political advisor to Donald Trump since 2017. She is the step-daughter of Melania Trump and the two women appear to have a good relationship.
Melania started dating Donald Trump in 1998, when Ivanka was just 16 years old. The First Lady married her husband nearly seven years later on January 22, 2005.
She became the step-mother of Donald's four children from previous relationships.
Melania is only 11 years older than Ivanka and has spoken in the past about taking on a friend role-rather than being a mother-to her stepchildren. Since Donald was inaugurated in 2017, both Melania and Ivanka have regularly traveled with the President.
When they are seen at events together, Bruce Durham, body language expert at BelievingBruce, commented on their relationship.
While Ivanka is only slightly younger than Melania, she could still look up to the First Lady. Ivanka is most definitely on her own journey, but as much as she may want to be 'the boss' as is typical on our journey to adulthood, she 'checks in' quite frequently with Melania.
"She uses Melania as her comfort blanket when she is feeling a little outside of her comfort zone."
Melania's confidence during public appearances could be encouraging for Ivanka.
Bruce explained: "It is observable that Melania has presented the same emotional baseline, body language gestures and posture for a number of years, and these are present in any situation regardless of the audience.
