The Princess of Wales may not miss the birthday of a special family member as she returned home from hospital today.
Kate's mother, Carole Middleton, is set to celebrate her birthday this week as her daughter recovers from medical surgery. The British businesswomen will celebrate her 69th birthday this Wednesday - an event which she usually celebrates surrounded by family.
Although Carole may visit her daughter on Wednesday, it is unlikely that Kate will be attending any big birthday plans like in previous years. For Carole's 60th birthday, Kate, William and their son, Prince George, joined the Middletons on holiday to the tropical island of Mustique.
The family stayed in Villa Rocina, a beachside gem where guests can wander through tropical gardens and go snorkelling off the island's reef.
In 2019, Kate's sister, Pippa, threw their mum a party at her home in Chelsea for her 64th birthday. The princess was pictured walking into the party wearing a £2,075 Alexander McQueen red, maxi dress.
Last year, Carole Middleton wrote in a newsletter for her family-run business, Party Pieces: “Is it just me or has January flown by? Which means it is nearly my birthday. I often go away on holiday for my birthday, but this year I am bringing the sunshine to me by throwing a party featuring lots of bright and bold colors.”
Even during lockdown Kate's mother made the most out of her birthday with her husband, Michael Middleton.
She wrote on Instagram: “"If, like me, your birthday falls during the cold, dark days of winter, your loved ones can still make the day full of surprises.
