Meghan Markle has reportedly returned to Canada — where she spent six weeks vacationing with Prince Harry and baby Archie over Christmas — amid rumors the couple plans to move there permanently.
The BBC reports that the Duchess of Sussex left for Canada shortly after the couple announced their plans to step back from their roles as senior royals.
In an official statement, they said they plan to divide their time between the UK and North America.
"This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter," they wrote on Instagram. Buckingham Palace has not officially confirmed that Markle is currently in Canada, nor has it confirmed that the couple plans to relocate there specifically.
However, sources predicted Canada could be on the cards even before the couple announced they were giving up their roles.
A source close to the couple previously told The Sun: "It is true that Harry and Meghan will spend a fair amount of time in Canada over the next couple of months and possibly going forward too.
"Right now they are starting talks with their family about their plans for the future. Those conversations are at a very early stage."
