Kylie Kelce has recounted the story of what led her husband, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, to rip his shirt off in front of Taylor Swift.
The Kelce family were already NFL royalty, but they have become globally famous thanks to Jason's brother, Travis Kelce, being in a relationship with Swift.
Kylie and Jason first met Swift when they all went to watch Travis' Kansas City Chiefs win against the Buffalo Bills on January 21, and where her husband went viral thanks to his celebratory antics. In an interview with Good Morning America, Kylie explained how Jason had turned up to the game in the hopes of completing a Bills tradition by smashing a table, but when that did not work out, said he planned to rip his shirt off and jump into the crowd.
He desperately wanted to go through a table, it was on his checklist for the day. Yes, his top priority of the day is to go through a table and he didn't get a chance to do that," she told GMA.
"When he got into the suite, he said to me 'I'm gonna take my shirt off to jump out' and I was like, 'I don't think that's the best idea,' but I think that it was that continued. energy from when he was hyping himself up to break a table."
She said that she told him "go ahead" when he wanted to do it the first time, but after the second and third times of jumping into the crowd she told him to stop because he was making the work harder for "the poor cops". trying to keep the crowd under control.
The table tradition is when Bills fans at tailgates try to smash plastic folding tables by jumping on them and attempting to break them. Some try to imitate wrestling moves, including one fan at the Chiefs game who managed to set himself on fire in an attempt gone wrong. Fans lit the table on fire before he jumped on it, attempting to recreate a WWE move made famous by John Cena.
