Kate Middleton admits 'lonely' part of being mum to George, Charlotte and Louis

The Princess of Wales is known to be a hands-on parent, but no matter how dedicated she is to her three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, aged eight, and Prince Louis, five, she has previously admitted that there are still parts of motherhood that she struggles with.

Back in 2017, when she was on an official royal engagement with her husband Prince William, and her brother-in-law Prince Harry, she made the honest admission whilst she was chatting with two other mums she met that day. In Kate's candid moment, she acknowledged that even she feels "lonely at times" as a mother.

She also acknowledged that motherhood sometimes left her feeling "isolated" but noted that it was important to find the courage to ask for help and connect with other people when these kinds of feelings came up.

"It is lonely at times. You do feel quite isolated. But, actually, so many other mothers are going through exactly what you're going through." Kate said, per The Sun, whilst chatting to the founders of the app Mush - which provides a free service to help new mums connect to other parents in their local community, arrange meet-ups, and most importantly make friends with the aim of improving the mental health of mums everywhere.

It's being brave enough, like you obviously were, to reach out," Kate noted to two founders about their work.

William, Kate, and Harry were visiting to mark the launch of a new specialist media school in Hayes and promote their Head's Together campaign - which they jointly ran through the Royal Foundation to help end stigma around mental health issues.

This isn't the only time that Kate has spoken candidly about the emotional difficulties that can come with motherhood, in her wide-ranging work to raise awareness and minimize the stigma of these issues. She is also the patron of the Maternal Mental Health Alliance - something she took on back in 2022.
