The Princess of Wales is making good progress in her recovery following a successful abdominal surgery.



Kensington Palace has confirmed that Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, has returned home to Windsor Castle after undergoing a successful abdominal surgery at The London Clinic earlier this month.


The palace said in a statement on Monday: "The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor Castle to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress."


The statement added: "The Prince and Princess wish to thank the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided. Her Royal Highness appreciates the interest this news will generate and asks for everyone's understanding and respect for her privacy as she recovers."


The nature of the surgery has not been disclosed, but the palace said it was a planned procedure and that the Princess is expected to make a full recovery.

Following the news of Princess Kate's surgery, many well-wishers took to social media to send their support.


One person wrote: "Wishing Princess Kate a speedy and full recovery. Sending all my best wishes to her and her family."

Princess Kate's return to public duties


It is not yet known when Princess Kate will return to public duties. The palace said that she is likely to take a step back from royal engagements for several weeks as she recovers from her surgery.
