Netflix Refused To Give Meghan "Queen Cleopatra Role" & Confirmed £80m Deal With Her Didn’t Exist

Netflix has denied that it ever offered Meghan Markle the role of Queen Cleopatra in a film adaptation of the historical figure. The company also confirmed that it does not have an £80 million deal with Markle, as had been previously reported.

The denials came after a report in the Daily Mail claimed that Netflix had offered Markle the role of Cleopatra, but that she had turned it down because she was not interested in playing a "white savior". The report also claimed that Netflix had signed an £80 million deal with Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, to produce content for the streaming service.

Netflix has since denied both of these claims. In a statement, the company said that it "has never had any creative discussions with Meghan Markle about her playing Cleopatra". The company also said that "there is no £80 million deal in place" with Markle and Prince Harry.

The denials from Netflix have cast doubt on the accuracy of the Daily Mail report. It is possible that the report was simply incorrect, or that it was based on inaccurate information. It is also possible that the report was deliberately misleading.

Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Netflix has no plans to offer Meghan Markle the role of Cleopatra, and that there is no £80 million deal in place with her.
