MORE PLATES SMASHED! Carole & Pippa Middleton Are Guests At Jordanian Wedding While Meghan SNUBBED

A number of bombshell claims made by Prince Harry in an interview back in 2017 have been unearthed, showing he was having doubts about his life as a royal even before he stepped down from the Firm with his wife Meghan Markle.

During the chat the Duke of Sussex admits his twenties were a particularly troubled decade as he felt "directionless" and turned to alcohol and partying, adding that he came "very close" to a breakdown at the time.

His inner turmoil even led him to consider turning his back on royal life far before he actually did so in 2020, although back then he decided to stay out of loyalty to the late Queen Elizabeth.

Editor of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward gave her insight into life in the Sussex home in Montecito, California, where Harry and Meghan are raising their two young children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Ms Seward said the couple have found "a little bit of independence from each other" but that it was no bad thing given how close they were at the start of their relationship.

She told GB News: "There's been a lot of gossip and a lot of talk that Meghan's been out and about in LA without Harry.

"But I think that, you know, they have probably just reached the stage in their marriage where they can now do their own thing. I just think they're finding, you know, a little bit of independence from each other, which we 've never seen before."

This comes amid reports that the Duke and Duchess could be in for a huge payday if they sell the rights to Harry's explosive memoir Spare, which hit the shelves in January.

There have been rumors that Spare could be turned into a Hollywood production as the couple continues to rake in the money following their deals with media giants such as Netflix and Spotify.
