"You are a shining light to so many families in their darkest times and your efforts do not go unnoticed."
Kate is the royal patron of Together for Short Lives, a UK-wide charity for children's palliative care. She has visited several children's hospices over the years and has spoken about the importance of providing care to families who are facing the loss of a child.
"This Children's Hospice Week, I hope you'll join me in celebrating the truly extraordinary teamwork that goes into providing this incredible care," Kate wrote. "Thank you again for all that you do."
Kate's message was met with praise from those who work in children's hospices. "We are so grateful for The Princess' invaluable contribution as Royal Patron," said Alison Kerry, chief executive of Together for Short Lives. "Her work, visits and profile have projected our charity - as well as the importance of children's hospice services in general - onto the global stage and for that we are truly thankful."
Children's Hospice Week is an annual event that takes place in the UK in June. The week is dedicated to raising awareness of children's hospices and the care they provide.
