It was her childhood dream to become famous and she was willing to do whatever it took to get those clicks.
Sahar Tabar from Iran rapidly became an Instagram sensation when she started posting images of herself looking like an Angelina Jolie/zombie bride on Instagram. Then just 17, Sahar, whose real name is Fatemeh Khishvand, claimed that she had undergone about 50 surgeries to get the look which consisted of big pouty lips, a sharp crooked nose and exaggerated cheekbones but in the end it simply resembled a badly botched job. Despite her mother’s disapproval, Sahar continued to grow her following on the only social-media platform that was allowed to operate freely in her homeland.
She gained a following of more than four million but in 2019, Sahar (19) was arrested on charges of blasphemy, inciting violence, gaining an income through inappropriate methods and encouraging the youth to engage in corruption.
Sahar was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in what is regarded as one of the worst jails for women in Iran – Qarchak Prison, which is situated in a desert.
